GARY E. SLATER, a partner of the firm, has resided in San Diego since he received his law degree from McGeorge School of Law at the University of Pacific in Sacramento. He received his undergraduate degree in history from Pomona College in Claremont. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1981, and has been actively practicing before state and federal courts throughout California for some forty years.
He is and has long been a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney specializing in real estate transactions, real estate litigation, and insolvency litigation in various U. S. Bankruptcy Courts, in and out of California. He is a member of the real estate and bankruptcy sections of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
Gary has served on the board of the Historical Shrine Foundation at the Whaley House and has been an instructor for the real estate certifications offered by the Builders Owners Management Association in San Diego County. Most importantly, he has played golf since childhood and continues to maintain a 7 handicap with the Southern California Golf Association.
TIMOTHY J. TRUXAW, a partner of the firm, is a native of Southern California, received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Irvine, and his law degree from University of San Diego. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1982, and has been actively practicing before state and federal courts throughout California for some forty years.
He is and has long been a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney specializing in real estate, business, finance and insolvency transactions and litigation. He is a member of the real estate, business and bankruptcy sections of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association. Tim is proud to serve on multiple charitable and educational boards, and to provide pro bono service to regional communities.
GINA LUCAS, Certified Paralegal and office administrator, has over 34 years of experience in the legal profession. She is a graduate of the UCSD Extension Paralegal Program, a certified paralegal, and a member of UCSD’s Lambda Chi Honor Society. Gina is a past Director, Mentor and Treasurer of the San Diego Paralegal Association, a former Executive Director of the Enright Inn of Court and was a finalist of the San Diego Daily Transcript Top Paralegals. Ms. Lucas has served as a senior paralegal for the firm, providing support and collaboration with the firm’s attorneys in a wide range of matters, including commercial bankruptcy estate administration, real estate and business litigation. She is also the firm’s Legal Administrator, performing human resource, financial and firm administration duties.
